How the Test Is Scored
OAE results are reported as scaled scores from 100 to 300, and you need 220 on each subtest. Your score is based only on the questions you answer correctly, so a wrong answer costs nothing more than a blank. Answer every question.
Some questions on a subtest may be trial questions that do not count toward your score. They look like every other question, so treat them all as scored.
What Kinds of Questions to Expect
After the Test
- At a test center you may see a preliminary result for some tests at the end of your session; official score reports are posted to your online account by the score report date.
- Your scores are sent to the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.
- If you do not pass one subtest, you retake only that subtest. Check the OAE retake policy before you schedule again.
