The Praxis Elementary Education: Content Knowledge (5018) test is administered by ETS for candidates seeking licensure as elementary teachers. It evaluates the knowledge of reading and language arts, mathematics, social studies, and science needed to teach effectively in grades K–6, and it is typically taken by candidates completing an undergraduate elementary education program or seeking an elementary endorsement.
Exam Pattern and Structure
The test is a single computer-delivered session of 140 questions in 150 minutes. Most questions are selected-response (choose one answer, or in some cases more than one), and some mathematics questions are numeric entry, where you type your answer. An on-screen scientific calculator is provided. Some questions may be unscored pretest items, and they are not identified, so answer every question carefully.
